Ex-PM Hovik Abrahamyan quits the Republican Party of Armenia

Ex-Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan has announced the decision to quit the Republican Party of Armenia.

In a statement shared on Facebook Abrahamyan has said “the decision was not an easy one” considering the twenty years of his membership in the party.

Hovik Abrahamyan has expressed gratitude to fellow party members for the effective joint work.  He has  also thanked the former and current officials of the state establishments, the heads of Armenian provinces, cities and villages, to thousands of compatriots “for the achievements we have reached together.”

The ex-PM has said he’ll stay involved in politics. “I’m confident I have enough power, knowledge and experience to serve the state and the people. I will continue to live and work for the sake of Armenia.”

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
