TURKEY ARMENIANS EXPECT APOLOGY FROM GERMANY

The president of the foundation of the Surp (Holy) Giragos Armenian
Church of Diyarbakir, Turkey, Ergun Ayik, stated that Germany has
its share in the perpetration of the Armenian Genocide.

Speaking to the German dpa news agency, Ayik stressed that Germany,
which was Turkey’s closest ally in the First World War, should
apologize for having its role in this genocide.

He added, however, that solely an apology will be enough in the case
of Germany.
