Armenians must leave Karabakh, MP says

CIHAN | BAKU- 27.03.2015 10:52:40

Azerbaijani MP Elman Mammadov believes that those Armenians who are
still able to think in the right direction, must either cross the
border to Azerbaijani side, or leave Nagorno Karabakh.

Mammadov said today Armenia’s economy is completely ruined and the
country itself is in poverty.

“The same situation is observed with the separatist regime in Nagorno
Karabakh, which is under Armenia’s guard,” he said, adding that even
according to Armenia’s own statistics, there are even less than 1,5
million people left there.

“Those who could’ve left the country, already did so,” he said. “The
soldier who crossed the border has chosen the best way, since Armenian
servicemen on the frontlines are starving, and their commanders are
criminals.”

Mammadov also said that serious enmity between the people of
Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia affects the situation in the Armenian
army.

“The Armenian soldier spoke about the criminal situation in the army.
This once again testifies to the fact that Azerbaijan’s army will soon
liberate the occupied lands. The time has come to do that,” he said.

According to Mammadov, the only way to save the Armenian statehood is
the establishment of relations with Azerbaijan.

“Otherwise, Armenia will be destroyed,” he said.

Armenian soldier Andranik Grigoryan, born in 1991, surrendered to the
Azerbaijani side on March 22. During the interrogation, Grigoryan said
he surrendered to the Azerbaijani side because he feared a senseless
death.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988
when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan.

As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied
20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and
seven surrounding districts.

The two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs
of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the US are currently
holding peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions
on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
