Expert: Ankara continues policy of denial

The time has come to change our tactics in the Armenian Genocide
issue: we must try to achieve a resolution of this issue in the legal
area, Turkish studies expert Gevorg Petrosyan told reporters on
Saturday.

He attached importance to activities in the public, information and
propaganda areas, meanwhile adding that it is time to take new steps
and look for long-term and efficient ways.

Gevorgyan offered to set up a commission of leading local and foreign
experts to assess the prospects the Armenian side will have if this
issue is transferred to the legal field.

Regarding Turkey’s policy ahead of the Armenian Genocide centenary,
the expert said that despite the fact that several groups in Turkey
have begun to openly speak about the Armenian Genocide, Ankara
continues its policy of denial.

“Turkey wants May to come as soon as possible, this is obvious,” he concluded.
