ZHOGHOVURD: ARMAVIA HAS HUGE DEBTS

11:43 23/12/2014 >> DAILY PRESS

Armavia airline, Armenia’s former national air carrier, was declared
bankrupt one and a half month ago. Zhoghovurd newspaper saw the list
of the air company’s debtees, which, to put it mildly, is impressive.

The airline has debts to 122 individuals, mostly its employees, as well
as to 27 companies. The US dollar debts amount to about 90 million,
while the Armenian dram debts seem endless, according to the daily.

The newspaper notes that in addition, Armavia has tax obligations
to the state in the amount of 31 billion 357 million drams and 2
million dollars.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
