“Hraparak”: Director of Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) dismissed
and deputy director arrested

Executive Director of ANPP, Gagik Markosyan, has been dismissed and
one of the deputy director arrested, Hraparak daily reported
referring to its own sources.

It also says that at present the chief architect, Movses Vardanyan, is
an acting director of the ANPP. He proved the abovementioned
information. “Several days ago, Markosyan was dismissed according to
his own letter of resignation”, – Vardanyan said and added that there
are the arrested persons, but at present they are not employees of the
ANPP.

Referring to its own sources, the daily says the staff changing at the
strategical facility is stemming from the national security issues.
“Moreover, the covert actions by the Energy and Natural Resources
Ministry make one suspect and clear out that another two deputy
directors of the ANPP were also dismissed and one of them arrested”, –
the daily says.
