Paris Meeting Of Aliyev And Sargsyan: Hope Behind Closed Doors

PARIS MEETING OF ALIYEV AND SARGSYAN: HOPE BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

Vestnik Kavkaza, Russia
Oct 28 2014

28 October 2014 – 10:59am

The third meeting of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham
Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan in the last three months, devoted to a
peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, took place in
Paris today. Francois Hollande welcomed the presidents as the head
of a country which cochairs the OSCE Minsk Group.

This round of the Karabakh negotiations could go down in history as
one of the most closed: after the meeting the parties didn’t make
any statements – representatives of the OSCE Minsk Group and Francois
Hollande refrained from making statements.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
