Hollande To Visit Armenia On April 24, French Envoy Says

HOLLANDE TO VISIT ARMENIA ON APRIL 24, FRENCH ENVOY SAYS

French President Francois Hollande will pay a visit to Armenia on
April 24, 2015 – the day when the centennial of the Armenian Genocide
in Ottoman Turkey will be commemorated, France’s Ambassador to Armenia
Henri Reynaud said on Wednesday.

“On April 24 of this year in Paris the president of France stated that
on this day next year he will be in Armenia, next to the Armenian
people. This statement was confirmed during his visit to Armenia in
May,” the French diplomat emphasized, as quoted by Novosti-Armenia.

France formally recognized the Armenian Genocide with a special law
passed in 2001. A law criminalizing the denial of the Genocide was
submitted to the French legislature for passage in September.
