An Azerbaijani soldier has been killed in a border clash with Armenian
forces, according to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense.

The Armenian soldiers violated a ceasefire by opening fire on the
Azeri area and 19-year-old Keramer Sebiyev was killed, the Azerbaijani
Ministry of Defense reported on Tuesday.

The military prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into
the incident.

Azerbaijan and Armenia, two former Soviet republics, fought a war
over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh between 1988 and 1994.

The two countries signed a ceasefire in 1994, but it has been
periodically disrupted by cross-border incidents.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
