Austria to support Armenia to find cooperation ways both with Russia
and European Union

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS: The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and
Austria have discussed the agenda of the bilateral relations,
expressed views on regional and international issues.

“They are interested especially in the sphere of energy, which will
promote development of the trade and economic sphere,” said Foreign
Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan at a joint press conference held
at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Armenpress reports. The
minister added that the list of the agreements should be extended and
the inter-parliamentary cooperation and relations – activated.

“My visit to Armenia pursues three main goals. I think an interesting
political situation has been created here, which demands certain
mobility from the European Union,” said Foreign Minister of Austria
Sebastian Kurz expressing hope that they will find an opportunity to
support Armenia to extend the cooperation with the European Union in
parallel to working with important regional partner Russia.

According to Sebastian Kurz, his visit is a good opportunity to
develop the economic relations between the two countries. “We intend
to open Austrian Development Agency Office in Armenia aimed at
expanding our economic relations.”

Foreign Minister of Austria Sebastian Kurz is in Armenia on an
official visit at the invitation of Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward
Nalbandyan.

Today, the Austrian FM visited Tsitsernakaberd and paid tribute to the
memory of the genocide victims. In the frameworks of the visit the FM
will also attend the opening ceremony of the Austrian Development
Agency in Armenia.
