Haykakan Zhamanak: Carrefeur ends talks with Yerevan City chain?

The French multinational retailer Carrefeur is said to have finished
its sale and purchase negotiations with the Yerevan City supermarket
chain.

Under the deal, the company is expected to buy and rename 12
supermarkets of the Armenian chain, the paper says, citing its
“reliable sources”.

It claims further that Carrefeur is going to rent only the venues of
the supermarkets to later equip and furnish them in accordance with
the brand’s standards.

“Given that Yerevan Mall is opening a hypermarket of Carrefeur in
just a couple of days, we can very soon expect drastic changes in both
the retail sale of consumer goods and investments in Armenia,” the
paper comments.
