June 11, 2014 | 14:26

YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan congratulated Petro
Poroshenko in two days following presidential elections.

Ukraine assessed it as a friendly move, and ambassador was returned
to perform his duties, Ukrainian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta
said during a press conference on Wednesday.

Asked whether Ukraine recalled ambassador because of Armenia’s vote
on Crimea, Kukhta said: “Definitely, yes. A political solution was
made in connection with Armenia’s voting at UN, and I was recalled
to Kyiv for political consultations”.

However, Ambassador is confident that relations between Armenia and
Ukraine have not changed, and the countries would further develop
and deepen bilateral ties.

The resolution on Ukraine’s territorial integrity was adopted by UN
General Assembly by 100 votes for and 11 against and 58 abstentions.

Armenia, along with Russia, Belarus, Syria, Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela,
Bolivia, Sudan, Zimbabwe and North Korea voted against.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
