Arrivée d’un jaguar au zoo d’Erevan

Un nouveau prédateur étranger, un jaguar, a été introduit au Zoo
d’Erevan selon la page facebook du zoo.

« Dans le cadre d’un protocole d’entente entre les zoos d’Erevan et de
Tbilissi, nous avons obtenu une nouvel habitant – un jaguar (Panthera
onca) » indique l’article.

Le jaguar, Panthera onca, est un gros chat, un félin dans le genre
Panthera, et est la seule espèce Panthera trouvée dans les Amériques.
Le jaguar est le troisième plus grand félin après le tigre et le lion,
et le plus grand de l’hémisphère occidental.

Le Zoo d’Erevan a été fondé en 1941. Il est prévu de le transformer en
un parc zoologique moderne et un jardin botanique à l’avenir.
