KESSAB CLEAR EVIDENCE OF CONTINUED MIDEAST DE-CHRISTIANISATION – RUSSIAN EXPERT

MOSCOW April 7

– The situation in the Armenian-populated north-western town of Kessab
is clear evidence of continuing de-Christianisation in the Middle East,
Russia’s expert has said.

“Fifteen million Christians have died in the Middle East over the past
100 years. Kessab is just evidence of continuing de-Christianization
of the Middle East,” the president of the Moscow Institute for Middle
East Studies, Yevgeny Satanovsky, told Itar-Tass on Monday.

On March 22, Syria’s Kessab was attacked by Jebhat al-Nusra and Ahrar
al-Sham gunmen who had crossed the border from Turkey. According to
unofficial sources, 80 people died.

“Turkey is responsible for certain involvement in what has happened
in Kessab although it denies it,” Satanovsky said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
