According to the highly reliable sources of Haykakan Zhamank daily,
the initial decision, according to which Armenian Defense Minister
Seyran Ohanyan will be the authorities’ candidate for president in the
2018 presidential election, is getting stronger and becoming serious,
Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported.

“After the 2017 parliamentary election, they are planning to appoint
Ohanyan the prime minister, and in 2018 he will run for president. And
following the presidential election, President Serzh Sargsyan sees
himself in the premier’s position. After the expected constitutional
changes, this PM will have the broadest powers, and he will be the
first “face” of the country in terms of functions and leverage. And
they see Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan as a speaker
of the parliament”, -the daily says.
