HRAPARAK: GOVERNMENT HAS PREPARED ALTERNATIVE VERSION OF PENSION LAW

The Armenian government has reportedly prepared an alternative version
of the law on compulsory accumulative pension system, Hraparak writes.

If the Constitutional Court rules that the compulsory component is
unconstitutional because under the Constitution, only taxes and duties
are mandatory, then the government will send an amended version of the
law to the parliament, with the compulsory pension payments formulated
as a tax. In this case, some employers will have to reduce wages and
increase the shadow sector, the newspaper says.
