NEW YEAR PACKED WITH RUBBISH

During the holiday season the rubbish collection services did not
work. For over a week piles of rubbish appeared in the streets and
yards of houses. In some high-rises buildings the rubbish pipes got
jammed. Residents alarmed the sanitation services but as of today
morning rubbish had not been collected. The mayor of Yerevan Taron
Margaryan has vowed to the citizens of Yerevan for a number of times to
organize rubbish collection appropriately. In particular, during the
election campaign last April Taron Margaryan pledged better rubbish
collection and snow cleaning with newly acquired equipment.
