Vladimir Yevseyev, Director of the Center for Socio-Political Studies,
said that the South Caucasus should form a common security system
together with Turkey and Iran. He noted that it would be a more
successful initiative if Iran improved relations with the West.

Overall, the expert sees an intensification of Iranian activities in
South Caucasus.

Yevseyev believes that the system should be formed taking into account
the problems of Nagorno-Karabakh, Georgia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The differences could be resolved via common approaches, he said.

Security of all states should be equal regardless of their size. The
expert assumes that today is just the right moment to search for
compromise, because elections in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and
Iran have already passed and they have more readiness for cooperation.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
