Armenian Ministry To Host Conference On Carpet Weaving

ARMENIAN MINISTRY TO HOST CONFERENCE ON CARPET WEAVING

The Ministry of Culture of the Eurasian country of Armenia would be
hosting an international conference titled ‘Armenian node: carpet
weaving traditions’ in the capital city of Yerevan from November
20 to 22, 2013, in order to study and discuss the Armenian carpet
weaving culture.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the conference is
aimed at providing a platform for participants to discuss about the
issues faced by Armenian carpet manufacturers and study the process
of weaving carpets in the country.

Renowned industry experts from countries such as the US,
France, Germany, Italy, UK, Poland, Austria, Lebanon, Armenia and
Nagorno-Karabakh Republic would be participating in the conference
and providing an insight regarding the latest trends in carpet
manufacturing.

According to the Ministry, the participants at the conference would
be discussing issues on the study and typology of the Armenian carpet
weaving culture, traditional and modern carpets, modern technologies
for carpet repair and other subjects focused on the carpet industry.

Representatives from Armenian carpet manufacturing companies and
organizations occupied in the field of carpet weaving would also be
attending the two-day conference to exchange information regarding
latest manufacturing techniques in carpet making.
