ARMENIA’S JEWELRY OUTPUT GROWS 28.5% TO AMD 13.6 BILLION IN JAN-SEPT 2013
YEREVAN, November 5. /ARKA/. Jewelry pieces worth AMD 13.6 billion
have been produced in Armenia over a period between January and
September 2013 – 28.5% year-on-year growth, the National Statistical
Service reports.
Some 818.6 kilograms of jewelry were produced in Jan-Sept 2013 against
740.6 kilograms in Jan-Sept 2012 – 10.5% growth.
Diamond output grew 57.8% in Jan-Sept 2013, compared with the same
period a year before, to 66,958 carats.
Exports of precious and semiprecious stones as well as precious metals
and jewelry made of them totaled $136.8 million in Jan-Sept 2013 –
9.35 year on year growth, and their imports totaled $216.9 million
