US Ambassador to Armenia addresses ArmTech

October 04, 2013 | 14:46

YEREVAN. – As a US government employee, US Ambassador to Armenia John
Heffern received instructions to reduce his functions because of the
recent US government shutdown.

Ambassador Heffern noted the abovementioned during ArmTech Congress
`13, which kicked off Friday in capital city Yerevan.

The American diplomat added, however, that his government is
determined to contribute to Armenia’s IT sector, and it is interesting
to see the US companies that are operating in Armenia.

On his part, Synopsys Armenia Company CEO Rich Goldman noted that the
ambassador’s address, despite the US government shutdown, shows that
he takes the development of Armenia’s IT sector very seriously.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
