On September 27, during the public hearing on “South Caucasus, security
issues” held in the Georgian village of Tekali, Marneuli region,
the head of Civil Initiative Center of Azerbaijan Mayis Gyulaliev,
as a speaker, said that the South Caucasus countries are under the
control of major powers. We asked him under control of which huge
power Azerbaijan is. Azerbaijani The Azerbaijani speaker said,
“Not only Azerbaijan, but also Armenia and Georgia are under the
influence of the major powers. It’s not a secret, both Armenia, and
Georgia, and Azerbaijan, in a financial sense, are very much under
the influence of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund.

Azerbaijan, as a country rich in oil is under the influence of a
major transnational companies “British Petroleum”, “Staoil”, “Total”
and other companies. They, wherever they work, are trying to keep
local authorities under their control, and to use local media in their
favor. The anatomy of the American Empire is in it, wherever they are,
they are seeking for greater profits for their companies. Therefore,
they tend to keep local authorities under their control. As to how
successful they are in this, it is another question. In addition,
all 3 countries are obviously under the influence of major powers.

Armenia, apart from America, is under a big influence of Russia.”
