ARMENIAN CHURCH, SCHOOL DAMAGED IN ATTACK IN DAMASCUS

Armenia’s St. Sarkis church in Damascus was damaged as a result of an
attack in Syria’s capital of Damascus, the Armenian Foreign Ministry
wrote on its Facebook page.

“The walls of Armenia’s St. Sarkis church and an Armenian school were
damaged as a result of the yesterday’s explosion,” the ministry said.

According to the Armnian Foreign Misnitry, an Armenian national,
Akop Sarkisyan, was killed and other Armenian nations were wounded
in the attack.

According to official data, there lived 100,000 Armenians in Syria
before the conflict started.
