Ashot Manucharyan: Armenia has no clear foreign political guidelines

Armenia still has no clear political program concerning its relations with
Georgia and has in fact “given” that ally to Turkey and Azerbaijan, member
of the Karabakh Committee, analyst Ashot Manucharyan told journalists
on Saturday.

“Our authorities have no foreign political guidelines, no idea where to go.
The only thing they care for is their own welfare,” Manucharyan said.
He pointed out that Armenia is an independent state, so, nobody, including
the EU, has the right to put it before an “either-or” choice. “If our
authorities continue swaying to and fro, they may lose their allies,
including Russia and may face sanctions like those imposed by the Kremlin
on Georgia,” Manucharyan said.

He advised the Armenian authorities to continue cooperating with Iran and
criticized the United States’ policy in the region, particularly, on the
Nagorno-Karabakh problem. He said that this problem might have been solved
long ago, were it not for the United States’ interests.

“Armenia may eventually fall under the Americans’ control and this would
justify the size of their Yerevan-based embassy, wherefrom they will rule
the whole country,” Manucharyan said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
