AZERBAIJAN WELCOMES IRAN’S PARTICIPATION IN KARABAGKH SETTLEMENTS, WHEN USA DEPRIVED FROM ITS MEDIATOR

Baku,Fineko/abc.az. Iran is ready to make use of temporary absence of
USA’s appointed co-chairman of Minsk group of OSCE on settlement of
Armenian and Azerbaijani conflict and strives to join the settlement
procedure.

The minister of international affairs of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov
today states that with respect to Iran’s initiative to be involved to
assistance to the settlement, we welcome it, in case if any country
makes efforts to shift the settlement process.

“We want the conflict to be settled” E.Mammadyarov stated.

According to him, Azerbaijan is displeased with activity of Minsk
group, because of absence of results, and Azerbaijani lands are
still under occupation. At that, Azerbaijan is still for holding
meeting at the level of ambassadors of member countries of Minsk
Group of OSCE in Vienna with respect to discussion of settlement of
Nagorno-Karabagkh conflict.

“It is possible to arrange the meeting in September-October for
reinforcement of Minsk group’s activity” E.Mammadyarov said.

The meeting shall follow appointment of co-chairman for such vacancy
by USA administration on behalf of this country.

“Probably, the name of new American co-chairman of Minsk group of
OSCE will be declared in August ” Mammadyarov supposes.
