DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN RUSSIAN OFFICERS SHOT TRADERS IN GYUMRI?

What happened to the citizen of Armenia Hrachya Harutiunyan, who is
accused of traffic violation in Russia, outraged Gyumri residents as
well. Member of Chamber of Advocates Tamara Yayloyan recalled in a
conversation with GALA TV how several years ago, a group of Russian
officers entered Gyumri market and shot several traders, injuring
also buyers.

“Such behavior breaks the presumption of innocence, it is still to
be decided whether he is guilty or not. In any case, it is completely
evident that the accident was not a crime of forethought. But even in
case it was, the authorities must ensure the defense of the rights
and dignity of the accused…The attitude towards Harutiunyan was
a violation of the Article II of the European Convention of Human
Rights”, she said adding that when Russian officers shot people in
Gyumri market, the attitude towards them was still different.

Tamara Yayloyan said that the court of Shirak Marz is now considering
the cases of citizens of Georgia and Turkey in relation to the accident
which also resulted in the death of people. She calls to go and see
how respectful the behavior towards the citizens of other countries is.
