The newly appointed Ambassador of Iraq to Armenia, Ghazi Tahir Khalid,
handed the copies of his credentials to Armenian Foreign Minister

wished him success in his mission and voiced hope that the Ambassador
would contribute to the further reinforcement of friendly relations
between Armenia and Iraq. The Minister said the high-level reciprocal
visits and opening of Embassies in the capitals of the two countries
have given new impetus to the Armenian-Iraqi relations.

Ambassador Khalid assured that he would do his utmost to develop
the bilateral cooperation in different spheres. He added that Iraq
attaches importance to the expansion and deepening of relations with
Armenia and emphasized the role of the Iraqi-Armenian community in
the development of the country.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
