ZHOGHOVURD: PROSPEROUS ARMENIA PARTY LEADER MAKES CONTRADICTORY PROMISES TO TWO PARTY WINGS

YEREVAN. – Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan is
stuck between a rock and a hard place; that is, between the alternative
and the pro-government platforms, Zhoghovurd daily reports.

“It has long been known that PAP is divided into two parts: the
business sector is on the one side and the politicized part, on
the other side. The PAP sources informed Zhoghovurd that Tsarukyan
is attempting to satisfy both sides by always making contradictory
promises to them.

Before each election Tsarukyan assured the business, the vote-getting
sector that they will be a part of the ruling coalition in several
days, but assured former FM Vartan Oskanian’s wing that they will go
to confrontation [against the authorities].

As a result, however, Tsarukyan plays his own game by developing his
own business and not bearing personal accountability for the team,”
Zhoghovurd writes.
