Part Of Funds Raised By Hayastan Fund Telethones To Be Spent On Syri

PART OF FUNDS RAISED BY HAYASTAN FUND TELETHONES TO BE SPENT ON SYRIAN ARMENIANS

YEREVAN, May 30. /ARKA/. Hayastan All-Armenian Fund will continue
spending part of the funds raised during its telethones to solve
the problems of Syrian Armenians, executive director of the Fund Ara
Vardanyan told journalists after the Fund Trustees’ Board meeting.

So far the Fund has paid for education of students from Syria in
Armenian higher schools, for funeral ceremonies and medical treatments,
Vardanyan said.

Vardanyan noted the Fund allocated about $200,000 dollars to cover
expenditures in Syria.

During the 2012 telethon in Los-Angeles over 21.4 million was raised.

The funds were spent on rural development in Tavush of Armenia and
Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as for solving the problems faced by Syrian
Armenians.

Hayastan All-Armenian Fund was founded in 1992. Its main aim is
implementing national projects, developing infrastructures in Armenia
and Artsakh. -0-
