Azerbaijan against Armenian nuclear power station

By Messenger Staff
Friday, May 17
During a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency
representatives Azeri President Ilham Alyev stated that nuclear safety
and security are very important for the world as well as for
Azerbaijan. According to the Aliyev, the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant
in Armenia must be closed down. The Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant was
built in during the 1970’s and there are concerns about its safety
standards, as well as the fact that Armenia lies in an area of
considerable seismic activity. Armenia has recently signed an
agreement with Russia to construct a new nuclear power station in
Armenia. The construction is scheduled to take place in 2014-2015.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
