Cooperation Expansion Discussed With Microsoft

COOPERATION EXPANSION DISCUSSED WITH MICROSOFT

YEREVAN, MAY 3, ARMENPRESS: The Prime Minister of the Republic of
Armenia Tigran Sargsyan hosted the General Manager for Microsoft’s
Central and Eastern European Multi-Country region Takuya Hirano. As
Armenpress was reported by the Department for Information and Public
Relations of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, Takuya
Hirano first congratulated Tigran Sargsyan on the occasion of his
reassignment as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and
wished him new achievements in the development of the economy of the
country, in the field of information technologies in particular.

The interlocutors, highly evaluating the works of the innovation center
of Microsoft established in Armenia, discussed the issues related to
the expansion of the activities of the center and establishment of
a Microsoft’s regional research center.

Takuya Hirano expressed his readiness to expand the level of the
bilateral cooperation and contribute to the development of the
information technologies in our country.

At the same time the sides highlighted the issue of protection of
the copyright in the field of the intellectual property, which is,
as stated by Takuya Hirano, of great importance for the development
of the information technologies.

It was informed that the issue of signing a Memorandum between the
Ministry of Education and Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and
Microsoft is being discussed, aiming at implementation of programs
to develop the new education technologies.
