We must not underestimate Iranian MPs’ remarks on Turkmenchay treaty –
Armenian expert

April 13, 2013 | 17:41

YEREVAN.- Tension in Iran-Azerbaijan relations, without military
actions, is advantageous to Armenia, expert Sargis Asatryan told
reporters on Saturday.

Member of the Iranian parliament Nadir Gzipur has recently warned
Azerbaijan against anti-Iranian moves, threatening to review `two
shameful and imposed treaties of Gulistan and Turkmenchay.’

Armenian expert is confident one should not underestimate statements
by Iranian MP, since such assertions sometimes create grounds for some
actions of the states.

`I think it is a threat from Iran. Official Baku will have to refrain
from anti-Iranian actions. And the fact that Azerbaijani Foreign
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has reacted to this statement means that
his country is really worried about the issue,’ he said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
