AZERI PRESIDENT SETS OFF NATIONAL VALUES AGAINST UNIVERSAL HUMAN VALUES

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev publically claims there is an
essential difference between universal human values and Azerbaijani
national values.

During his speech at the Muslim Novruz Bayram festival, Aliyev
stressed that Azerbaijani government is committed to the national
values and not to European universal values, haqqin.az informs.

“Of course, we share common human values and have respect for European
values. However, our national values, Azerbaijani values, are above
all for us. Modern independent Azerbaijani state is built on a solid
foundation. Today Azerbaijan is developing rapidly and successfully in
all directions,” Aliyev said.

What exactly is the essence of “national Azerbaijani values”?

The president did not explain, however, if one draws conclusions based
on the actions of Azerbaijani authorities, it can be argued that among
the “values” is a brutal assassination of a sleeping person. Yes, that
is true. The accused murderer of the Armenian officer Gurgen
Margaryan, Azerbaijani military officer, in accordance with European
and universal values, was sentenced in Hungary to life imprisonment,
however, when he was returned home to continue his imprisonment in
Azeri prison, according to the Azerbaijani national values, he became
a national hero.

Furthermore, in addition to honoring murderers of sleeping people,
another Azerbaijani value is annihilation of the Armenian nation and
the Armenian cultural heritage: recall the destruction of the Armenian
cross-stones on present Azerbaijani territory of Julfa.
