ARNO BABAJANYAN’S STAR UNVEILED IN THE ARMENIAN JAZZ FAME ALLEY

Star of famous Soviet composer Arno Babajanyan has been unveiled today
in the Armenian jazz fame alley in Yerevan, Russian Kultura (Culture)
TV channel reports.

The star has been unveiled by Armenia’s Culture Minister Hasmik
Poghosyan and Yerevan mayor Taron Margaryan. Despite the rain and the
wind tens of people loving Babajanyan’s work attended the event.

“Today Arno is not with us but his music is alive,” architect Levon
Igityan said.

The source says that in 2002 Babajanyan’s statue was unveiled in
Yerevan, a small hall of Armenia’s Philharmonic, a music school,
street are named after him.

Armenia’s Jazz fame alley opened on December 23, 2012 with the stars
of Artemi Ayvazyan and Konstantin Orbelyan.
