YEREVAN, MARCH 12, ARMENPRESS: President of the Republic of Armenia
Serzh Sargsyan has invited President of Russian Federation Vladimir
Putin to Armenia during their meeting on March 12. As reports
Armenpress, referring to official web site of Russian President,
at the bilateral meeting in Russian President’s official residence
near Moscow, Serzh Sargsyan reminded that it was his first trip
after presidential elections in Armenia. “It is natural that first
of all I visited Moscow. Russia is our strategic partner, our ally,
thus everything is said,” Armenian President noted.

“We have recorded outstanding results in all areas: politics,
economy, military sphere, humanitarian and integration processes,”
Serzh Sargsyan underlined.

He has also expressed gratitude for the “military progress recorded
after previous meeting”.

Serzh Sargsyan also reminded that Russian Defence Minister Sergey
Shoygu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov had visited
Armenia. “I agree there is also some progress in economy. We expect
Russia’s support and assistance,” Sargsyan noted.

In his turn, Putin has highlighted that Russia and Armenia are tied
with special relations and once again congratulated Serzh Sargsyan
on the occasion of re-election.

“We have special relations with Armenia. Generally, they are developing
successfully. Despite some challenges in international economy, 20
percent trade growth was recorded last year and I am glad to note
that Russia remains to be in leading positions in trade turnover with
Armenia,” President Putin noted.

Russian President has also underlined that Russia is leading with
its USD 3 billion investment in Armenia.

“We have perspective, joint investment projects, and I hope, today
we will manage to touch on the whole complex,” Russian President said.

According to him, contacts in the political sphere are also actively
developing.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
