Raffi Hovannisian Meets Gagik Tsarukyan

Yerevan–Raffi K. Hovannisian today met with Prosperous Armenia Party
leader Gagik Tsarukyan. Hovannisian was joined by Heritage
parliamentary faction leader Ruben Hakobyan and Heritage spokesman
Hovsep Khurshudyan, while Tsarukyan was accompanied by secretary of
Prosperous Armenia parliamentary faction Naira Zohrabyan and MPs
Vartan Oskanian and Vahe Hovhannisyan.

The sides discussed the political crisis in post-election Armenia.
Hovannisian reaffirmed his rejection of the election results, which he
considers them falsified. Tsarukyan and Prosperous Armenia officials
noted that citizens are entitled to demand respect for their rights,
including electoral rights. They also shared concerns expressed by
Raffi Hovannisian and Heritage representatives on the untenable
political and socio-economic situation in Armenia, and the need for
changes. The Prosperous officials agreed that injustice was rampant in
Armenia and that daily violations of citizens’ dignity by various
state agencies has led to mass public discontent.

Gagik Tsarukyan maintained that Prosperous Armenia will always be with
the people. The sides agreed to cooperate on methods to overcome the
current political crisis, including snap solutions.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
