Son stabs his mother to death in Armenia’s capital

A son stabbed to death his mother today at about 1.05 pm in Yerevan.

The police received an alarm about sudden death of a woman living on
Bakunts street. The police dispatched to the scene found the body of
the woman Hripsime Igityan with a number of injuries, including with a
sharp object.

As a result of operative-investigative events, the police found Aiga
Igityan, 46, son of the killed woman registered in Avan psychiatric.

Igityan told the police he had frequently quarreled with his mother,
with today being as usual but ending with tragedy.

Igityan also showed the knife with which he stabbed his mother twice.

Investigation is under way.
