Hayrikyan shooting was classical political calculation – newspaper

YEREVAN. – Speaking about the assassination attempt that was staged
against Armenia’s presidential candidate, opposition National
Self-Determination Union Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan, and the killer who
`missed,’ a person who is informed of the law enforcement activities
said, in such cases, the killer attempts to leave Armenia immediately
after having committed the crime, Hraparak daily reports.

`[He leaves] primarily by land; the airway is more perilous and
unpredictable, as compared to land. [But] in both cases the
perpetrator is found with difficulty.

It is true that air and land `SOS’ is declared, but there are no clear
mechanisms toward finding the criminals quickly and depriving [them]
of the chance to leave the country, since the factor of finding is a
sensory manifestation.

Also, our interlocutor believes the assassination attempt against
Paruyr Hayrikyan was a result of a classical political calculation, as
they shoot at someone but, in reality, they send a `message’ to
caution completely other people,’ Hraparak writes.
