ARMENIA LACKS LAW AND ORDER – PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

In the situation after the murder attempt on Armenian presidential
candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan, authority representatives’ announcements
that follow each other, saying that the attempt is beneficial for the
opposition is incomprehensible for us, is said in presidential
candidate, former Armenian PM Hrant Bagratyan’s electoral
headquarters’ statement.

“Yesterday, on January 31, at midnight, a murder attempt has been made
on presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan.

Thanks to God, his life is out of danger now. As a result, the
statements of authority representatives that this event is beneficial
for opposition, is incomprehensible for us.

People, who have taken over warden position for Paruyr Hayrikyan’s
ward, don’t want to realize that they must establish law and order in
the country.

Why not assume that you are the ones responsible for the event.

Generally speaking, a terroristic act has taken place. You are the
creators of terror environment in the country. We are convinced on
this through all the campaign. You have mobilized administrative
resources, concentrated the media, spread sociological misinformation,
and an anti-propaganda that is against the law. Are you that afraid
not to pass to run-off? Think again, don’t make your end into the end
of Armenia. Your only savior today is to quickly find the criminals
and end the terror environment in the country,” the statement reads.
