GAGIK MINASYAN: CHANGE OF POWER IN GEORGIA WILL HAVE IMPACT ON SOUTH CAUCASUS DEVELOPMENTS

14:31 16/01/2013

The three South Caucasus countries are holding presidential elections
this year. A change of power occurred in Georgia, which will have
an impact on the developments in the region, Republican Party of
Armenia (RPA) parliamentary faction member Gagik Minasyan told a news
conference in Yerevan.

The developments in Georgia will have an impact on Armenian-Georgian
relations, according to him.

“Georgia will give up a unidirectional foreign policy to develop ties
with Russia, which will facilitate exports of Armenian products to
Russia with the use of Georgia’s communications,” said the lawmaker.

The new Georgian authorities seek development of economic relations
with Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and are expected to change 180
percent their position on Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-South
Ossetian conflicts, Mr Minasyan concluded.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
