8 YEAR-OLD GIRL – A VICTIM OF SOLDIER’S VIOLENT ACTIONS

Contractual soldier is arrested and charged with violent acts of
sexual nature towards a 8 year-old girl.

According to the information of “Pastinfo”, the incident happened
months ago, on August 12, 2012. According to the indictment, the
resident of Yeghvard, a contractual soldier, A. Araqelyan, tried
to commit a sexual violence towards 8-years-old Lana (the name is
changed), forcing her to touch his sexual organ.

Arakelyan is charged with Section 3 of Article 139 (Violent sexual
actions done against a minor) of RA Criminal Code. If his guilt is
proved, he will be charged with 8-15 years imprisonment.

The investigation chose arrest as a preventive measure.
