The events dedicated to the composer vary: yet a special format has
been elaborated. Khachaturian’s birthday marked on June 6 is scheduled
to be kick off with jubilee concerts possible to be hosted in all
countries and cities. Although Khachaturian is well known out of the
borders of Armenia, according to Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan
mostly separate excerpts from composer’s relevant ballets will be
demonstrated to the public:most symphonies and concerts worthy public
attention remain in the shade. In the opinion of Aram Khachaturian
House-Museum Director Armine Grigoryan each and every composer needs
popularization.Surely we should care no efforts the heritage left by
the composer will be represented to the world as much as possible.

Reportedly the museum has great contribution in this regard. Aram
Khachaturian House-Museum will host various musical evenings in
connection with the Jubilee year.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
