HOVIK ABRAHAMYAN: “TURKEY HAS PUT FORWARD PRECONDITIONS WHICH ARE UNACCEPTABLE FOR ARMENIA”

Yerevan/Mediamax/. “Under Azerbaijan’s open pressure Turkey has put
forward preconditions which are unacceptable for Armenia,” Armenian
National Assembly Chairman Hovik Abrahamyan said.

Hovik Abrahamyan said this in Brussels on January 19, addressing the
ceremony dedicated to the establishment of EU-Armenia friendship group.

“The international community has witnessed Armenia’s initiative to
improve relations with neighboring Turkey. We have done this being
led by state interests not by emotions. We all know what destiny
the Zurich protocols have had in Turkey: the Turkish parliament has
not ratified them. Moreover, under Azerbaijan’s open pressure Turkey
has put forward conditions which are unacceptable for Armenia. If we
speak the language of preconditions, then the moral right of putting
them forward belongs to Armenia, not to Turkey,” said Hovik Abrahamyan.
