Expert of the Institute of CIS countries, political scientist Mikhail
Alexandrov expressed his opinion to the reporter of Armenian
News-NEWS.am that in 2013, including the next meeting of the Foreign
Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the beginning of the year, one
can hardly expect anything new in Karabakh settlement.

According to him, the parties’ positions are so clear and certain that
`breakthroughs’ and `progress’ are simply unrealistic to expect.

`Given the current balance of power, nothing will change in the
region, despite various claims,’ he added.

According to the expert, the status quo will be broken if the
situation changes in the world.

`But such conditions do not add up yet,’ Mikhail Alexandrov said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
