2013 MUST BE A YEAR OF DEVELOPMENT: MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. The Ministry of Agriculture canceled
the quarantine, which was put forward because of anthrax found in a
number of regions of Gegharkunik province. This was announced by the
Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Sergo Karapetyan
during the final press conference of the current year. As reports
“Armenpress” the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia
Sergo Karapetyan stated: “The quarantine has been canceled from now
on, as the situation is stable.”

According to him the economies, which suffered because of anthrax will
not get compensation. The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of
Armenia Sergo Karapetyan stressed that this decision is conditioned
by the small sizes of damage. Only 12 cases have been recorded.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Sergo Karapetyan
highlighted: “The sphere of agriculture has always been in the
centre of attention of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh
Sargsyan.” Among other things the Minister underscored: “The recent
years were years of stabilization of agriculture, notwithstanding
the next years must become years of development.”
