2012 WAS A EUROPEAN YEAR FOR ARMENIA: TRAJAN HRISTEA

16:54, 20 December, 2012

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. 2012 was a European year for
Armenia. The Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Trajan Hristea
stated this during his lecture dedicated to the EU-Armenia relations.

As reports “Armenpress” Hristea stated: “I would like to cite words
of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward
Nalbandyan, who said that this was a European year for Armenia. Also
I would like to emphasize that this was a really European year for
Armenia, as we have recorded a number of achievements, which supported
and will continue supporting the future development of Armenia. I
can recall the first steps of the cooperation with the EU, which
launched right after the collapse of the USSR.” According to him
the document signed with the EU became a turning point for Armenia
because it included all the realms of the cooperation.

Among other things Hristea underscored: “We have created a unique arena
for disputes and discussions. EU became a good arena for prevention
and solution of conflicts. One of the main reasons for creation of the
EU Eastern Partnership was the Arab Spring, which proved that people
can achieve what they want. Arab countries became more attractive and
Eastern Partnership has been created to keep the eastern countries
in the centre of attention.”

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
