Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said that “Armenia
has managed to outstrip many countries, including developed ones,
in terms of freedom of speech.”

The President said this on November 3 at the Diocesan meeting in
Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin.

“Overcoming the devastating consequences of the economic crisis we
are now going to give a new impulse to our country’s development. We
know the roots of all problems and can seriously succeed in overcoming
them. We are full of resolve to introduce order in all the spheres of
the governmental system. And we will do it. Fraud, abuse of authority,
inhumane acts will be punished without exception, in public, so that
it became a lesson for everyone. We have a serious progress in terms
of freedom of speech: we have managed to outstrip many countries
including developed ones. We can be proud of this and we have to keep
it at any price. We are making serious changes in establishing an
atmosphere of justice. We are moving in line with a clear program,
which doesn’t envisage any retreat. Public relations built on the
perception of justice and confidence towards the system of justice –
these are the criteria we strive for and we will have serious results
shortly,” said Serzh Sargsyan.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
