The Commonwealth of Independent States Free Trade Agreement has taken
effect, an employee of the Armenian representation at the CIS has
informed Ukrainian News.

“The Agreement takes effect on October the seventeenth,” he said.

In his words, Armenia in September handed over documents on passing
requisite domestic procedures for the Agreement to take effect.

Thus, Armenia is the fourth country for which the CIS Free Trade
Agreement is in effect.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the CIS Free Trade Agreement for
Ukraine, Russia and Belarus took effect on September 20.

Moldova and Kazakhstan ratified this agreement but it still has not
entered into force.

Eight CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia,
Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Tajikistan) on October 18, 2011 agreed to
establish free trade.

Uzbekistan intends to joint the CIS Free Trade Agreement before the
end of 2012.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
