Armenia celebrates 20th anniversary of Missile Artillery Troops (PHOTOS)

YEREVAN. – In the calendar of Armenia’s Armed Forces, October 19 is
marked as the Missile Artillery Troops’ Day, and this was celebrated
on Saturday.

Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan also attended this event, during which
units from the Troops held demonstration exercises, MOD press service
informs.

Subsequently, Ohanyan delivered welcoming remarks. Underscoring the
importance of the Missile Artillery Troops, he noted that they not
only function within the parameters of their specialized tasks, but,
also, they provide assistance to the motor-rifle and tank divisions.
`This was proved at the battlefield. So, the Missile Artillery Troops
are more for the Armenian army than just mere divisions that carry out
combat actions from closed firing positions,’ Seyran Ohanyan noted.

In addition, several servicemen from the Missile Artillery Troops were
awarded with medals and gifts.
