“THIS IS DIRECTED AGAINST TSARUKYAN AND KOCHARYAN”

“The speech of the prosecutor general Aghvan Hovsepyan was
disappointing. This shows that even the prosecutor general does not
understand the real circumstances of the case,” said the director of
the Center of Regional Studies Richard Giragossian dwelling on the
decision of the parliament to strip Vartan Oskanian of immunity.

According to Giragossian, the case is politically motivated.

Besides, there are more serious breaches by MPs, especially the
oligarchs. This is a trial for the legislature of Armenia, it is a
trial in terms of Armenia’s international rating. This has nothing
to do with Oskanian and the Civilitas, this is directed against
Tsarukyan and Kocharyan. According to him, intentionally or not,
the prosecutor general supports Oskanian prior to the presidential
elections, said Giragosian.
